Wuhong Pei, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division for Research Capacity Building, where she manages grants for the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence, IDeA Clinical and Translational Research Network, and Support for Research Excellence programs.
Before joining NIGMS, Pei served as a health specialist at the Extramural Research Division of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. Prior to that, she was a staff scientist at the National Human Genome Research Institute.
Pei received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and master's degree in microbiology from Shanxi University in China. She then earned a Ph.D. in immunology from the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences in China and conducted postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute and Uniformed Services University.
